In addition, we received\u00a0news for the Carrier Library employee’s that they are not interested in implementing our project because they currently have a different team already working on this. As a team, we decided that we are going to work on creating a book for visually impaired students rather than put our prints on the wall. We think it will be more beneficially and easier to use (hence\u00a0the holes in the second print). Our next obstacle is figuring out where we want to focus the rest of our efforts for the rest of the semester. We have been considering working on another building. The challenge is – the more complicated the floor plan, the harder it is to extrude certain rooms. We are trying to get ahold of different floor plans for different buildings and evaluate our next plan.<\/p>\n
Timeline:<\/h1>\n
Week 3\/13: Bring our\u00a0two prints to the Office of Disability<\/p>\n
Week 3\/12:\u00a0Work on First Floor Carrier and label entrances and exits<\/p>\n
Week 3\/19:\u00a0Have a final print of the all Carrier Floors and fix any problems with the prints<\/p>\n
Week 3\/26: Gather all the prints of Carrier Library and group them together for final presentation<\/p>\n
Week of 4\/2: Continue print out new floor plans for different buildings on campus<\/p>\n
Presentation:<\/h1>\n
Our presentation will be a proposal for implementation for James Madison University. We hope to encourage JMU to utilize our floor plan 3D prints in every building and floor on campus. We understand that we will not be able to print every single floor plan of every building but we hope to outline the specific steps that we took to achieve a successful floor to encourage other students or faculty to continue the project. Written in high-level\u00a0terms, it is easy to follow and be very do-able.<\/p>\n
