Interesting? Intuitive? Or, what makes a graph <em>bad,<\/em> and why?\u00a0How might a third dimension add nontrivial meaning and relevance to data\/charts\/graphs? Image to consider: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/2017-election-results\/virginia\/?utm_term=.b221f3ddc845\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2017 Northam\/Gillespie map<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Here is a brief look forward to the next week or two:<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li>Today &#8211; discussions and a 3D printing demo that may or may not work, intro to Tinkercad, followed by a 3D design assignment<\/li>\n<li>Wednesday &#8211; I&#8217;m out a conference, you have <a href=\"https:\/\/geekhaus.com\/3Dworld\/timeline\/wed-1-18-videos\/\">about an hour of videos to watch<\/a> about data and various topics, followed by a writing assignment<\/li>\n<li>Next Monday &#8211; MLK day<\/li>\n<li>Next Wednesday &#8211; Hand in your written assignments, print your Tinkercad assignments, discuss the videos and next steps.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>3D printing demo time!<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li>Everyone <a href=\"https:\/\/geekhaus.com\/3Dworld\/timeline\/3d-printing-demo-penny-traps\/\">3D print a Penny Trap<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Everything might go wrong<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Assignments<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li>You have one writing assignment and one design assignment, both of which require a significant time investment. Both are due and will be checked on Wednesday 1\/15.
