  • Discussion to get mastery of Quiz 9 to 100%

  • Review previous homework as needed to catch up
  • Read and take notes on Section 3.5
  • I suggest getting ahead on Section 3.5 material if possible, so feel free to start the homework early this weekend! This will help you be ready for Friday’s quiz.

Wednesday 11/9 – Optimization

  • Daily Quiz on Section 3.4
  • Discussion and group work on Section 3.4

// After class

  • Finish homework needed to master Section 3.4
  • Study for the Friday Quiz on Sections 3.3 and 3.4

Monday 11/7 – Second Derivative

  • Read and take notes on Section 3.3

// During class

  • Daily quiz on Section 3.3
  • Discussion and group work on Section 3.3
  • Midterms will be handed back on Wednesday

  • Do all homework necessary to master Section 3.3
  • Read and take careful notes on Section 3.4 to be ready for Wednesday’s class

Friday 11/4 – Second Midterm

  • Finish your study plan, be ready, and get lots of rest!

  • Take the second midterm — you may use your Notebooks in the last 10 minutes

// After class

  • If you didn’t do as well as you wanted to, then take this weekend to catch up. Don’t wait!
  • Read and take notes on Section 3.3 to be ready for Monday’s class

Wednesday 11/2 – Review

  • Continue implementing your study plan for Friday’s exam
  • Come to class ready with questions to ask

  • Discussion about whatever people have questions about

  • Study for the MIDTERM EXAM ON FRIDAY

Monday 10/31 – First Derivative Test

  • Prepare for the Daily Quiz with a careful read of Section 3.2

  • Class discussion and group work on Section 3.2

  • Do all necessary homework to master Section 3.2
  • Continue with your plans to prepare for the second Midterm Exam on Friday
  • Prepare a list of questions to ask during the test review on Wednesday

  • Questions and more practice with derivatives

  • The second midterm is in ONE WEEK!  Use this weekend wisely 🙂

  • Read and take careful notes on Section 3.2 to prepare for Monday’s Daily Quiz

Wednesday 10/26 – Derivatives Worksheet

  • Complete Derivatives Worksheet problems, and get help if you need to from the SMLC
  • Prepare for the Friday Quiz by studying Section 2.4 and the Derivatives Worksheet

Monday 10/24 – Chain Rule & Implicit Diff

  • WINTER IS COMING. By which I mean the second midterm exam. Test 2 is next Friday! Start reviewing and studying now so you will be ready.

  • Finish all necessary homework for previous sections
  • Read and take notes on Section 2.4

  • Daily Quiz on 2.4 – Remember Notebooks ARE allowed, so be prepared!
  • Group work and discussion of Section 2.4

  • Complete all necessary homework for Section 2.4
  • Wednesday’s class will involve a worksheet so there is no new reading to do after class. Instead, start reviewing for next Friday’s second midterm exam!

  • If you’ve been missing Daily Quiz answers or want to raise your grade, then now is the time to start catching up! The best two things you can do are (a) read carefully and for understanding before class, and (b) complete all the homework you need to do to master each section.
