Good morrow.
My name is Michael Mathis, and I am a junior SMAD major with a concentration in Digital Video & Cinema, as well as a minor in Creative Writing. I’m originally from Westport, Connecticut.
My passions include filmmaking, comedy, and pretty much most things you put in front of me. I’ve been a member of New & Improv’d, Maddy Night Live, and Weird Cousins since my Freshman year (all JMU-based comedy groups). If you ask me what my favorite movie is, we’re going to be standing there for at least two minutes. This is my fault, I’m pretentious.
I definitely had a falling out with math in high school, but I am very excited to be back in a math class now, specifically for something so related to design. I am definitely rusty on most if not all of my math skills, but I’m very excited to explore the depth of design and the intricacies of construction in this class. I hope math will have me back.
